Data repository for measurements from 5 automated solar stations in Vietnam. Data will be uploaded in batches, on a monthly basis, and will transmit daily reports on 1 minute average values for solar radiation levels, temperature, air pressure and wind speed. Dear Sir/Madam

is it possible that the data show production during the wrong time of day?

I requested my engineers to use these data for PV Syst simulations and when they were trying to import them they told me that they were showing DNI and GHI values which were zero during the day

Could you please help?

Dear Visitor,

DNI and GHI values are zero during the day could be because data measurements are in UTC and not in local time zone. UTC is standard for meteorological files (defined in the header files), most irradiance values are 0 for about 11:00-23:00 UTC, depending on the actual date and location. During daytime (23:00 UTC until about 11:00 UTC) values are not 0. At night all variables related to radiation should have values of about 0, since no sunshine is present during the night.

We have checked all datasets for the 5 stations regarding systematic errors and offsets of the radiance measurement values depending on the position of the sun. The radiation values are reasonable for each month from 2018 and 2019. On average, radiation values rose above 0 W/m2 when sun rises. The datasets follow the daily cycle later.
