Major cities -electrification status
In line with the Government of Congo’s stated objective of achieving 100% electrification of administrative headquarters, the consultant has considered all district or departmental headquarters as priority localities for electrification. In addition to administrative headquarters, the consultant also evaluated and ranked candidate localities based on the socio-economic impact of electrification using a ranking index based on the health, education and economic infrastructure available in each locality. The top 10% of ranked localities were selected as “development poles” and were earmarked for electrification in the first 5-year planning phase.
